In order for Zen-Sations, my massage, spa and beauty therapies treatment room and mobile business to get off the ground there were a few legal steps that I had to follow in order to be let loose in and around the Orihuela Costa.
Hopefully, if anyone else is thinking of moving, this will be of some use.
My first bit of advice before starting the processes needed to be able to live and work in Spain is to get several photocopies of all relevant documents, as the same documents are needed at every stage.
All the information noted below is relevant at the time of writing (it does seem to change often) and is relevant in Playa Flamenca (it does seem to differ depending on which town hall you attend).
Applying for an NIE Number
the first thing I needed to do was apply for my NIE number (Número de Identificación de Extranjero) This is a Spanish tax identification number given by the authorities to any foreigner. It is a legal requirement for all foreigners, whether resident or non-resident, with...
To ensure you have the best experience with Zen-Sations when you have a massage there are a few things you can do to help.
Eat an Hour Before - Sooo many people get the 'rumble tums' while lay on the bed and often feel embarrassed by the loads groans their stomachs make. The best way to avoid this is to have something to eat about an hour before; this will give you time to digest your food so you don't feel uncomfortable while lay on your stomach and also keep the groans to a minimum
GP's Permission - there are a number of contraindication for massage, but very few are a definite no no, most just mean we will need to adapt slightly. If your condition is on the list of contraindications see your GP and just get a note from him/her to say they feel it will be fine for you to have the treatment.
Personal Hygiene - Have a shower to ensure you are clean and fresh and make sure you cover any small wounds and warts etc with a plaster. You don't want to infect your cuts and I certainly d...
Zen-Sations Massage, Spa and Beauty Therapies Treatment Room and Mobile Service is based in La Zenia and travels in and around the Orihuela Costa. Based in and around the region are around 11 golf courses, which means it houses many many golfing visitors throughout the year. Some of you are novice or recreational golfers enjoying your golfing holiday, some of you are professionals on tour and some of you are somewhere in between, working towards the next level. Whichever one you may be, whatever your skill level, it has become apparent that regular massage, used in conjunction with your training program can help improve your game. It can improve your flexibility, increase your range of motion, prevent injury allowing more pain free games and enhance your overall performance.
Due to the swing needing great rotation, weak muscles and/or poor technique or mechanics can cause many different injuries, most of which can be relieved...
Zen-Sations Mobile Massage, Spa and Beauty Therapies, based around the Orihuela Costa offers dry body brushing as a stand-alone treatment or an add on to all massages.
Clients who have had this treatment say that although they have used a body brush as part of their self care routine, it just doesn't feel the same as when it is completed by a therapist. Of course it still does the job, but the sensation is totally different when done by someone else, it feels both relaxing and refreshing. Brushing the skin whilst dry as opposed to in the bath or shower allows exfoliation without the skin losing it's moisture.
So what's the point of it?
Dry brushing exfoliates the skin and therefore gets rid of dead skin cells and unclogs pores, which in turn improves cell turnover, it increases circulation and helps the lymphatic system work better, it stimulates the nervous system making you feel invigorated and improving clarity of mind. Great just before yo...
In the Orihuela Costa the sun makes an appearance on average 325 days per year, which means little time for us girls to hide our hairy bits behind winter clothes, so keeping on top of your hair removal treatments is important for us. The bikini line is especially important as we don't want those unsightly red bumps halfway down our legs left by the razor. Other than a bit of immediate discomfort, which we hard core girls can easily take, I think waxing is the best hair removal choice. It's quick and it can last a long time. The intimate waxes can be embarrassing (I will go into to that in more depth in a mo) but it leaves a smoooooooth finish and causes no itching and irritation. Waxing methods have improved significantly over time, with therapists using pre and post wax oils to help keep the discomfort to a minimum and there is certainly NO DOUBLE DIPPING on my watch, meaning no contamination in the pot and on your skin.
Zen-Sations Mobile Massage, Spa and Beauty Therapy Service will be based in a lovely little town, Playa Flamenca. As a mobile therapist I will travel in and around the Orihuela Costa, the most southerly part of the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante on the east coast of Spain. I will be willing to travel further, i.e to Benidorm for group bookings.
I first came across Playa Flamenca and the stunning surrounding areas 9 years ago when I came to visit my dad who had recently moved to the area and I instantly fell in love. Instead of looking out of my window at greyness I start every day looking at the different lovely colours of the houses and beyond where the beautiful blue sky meets the sea.
It's not a big tourist area, which suits me mighty fine, it is a quiet residential area, non-commercialised, but near to holiday facilities, such as gawjus blue-flag beaches, go-carting, aqua parks, water sports, championship golf and a mile from the large shopping complex, La Zenia B...
